The Global Green Media Network was thrilled to join the hubbub in Glasgow surrounding COP26 this November, with major network events to connect local members of the Scottish green film community with global experts and interdisciplinary scholars.

The events included an informal meet-and-greet with members of the local film and media industry, and an all-day workshop that included panels on State of the Art (with Emellie O'Brien of Earth Angel Sets and Louise Smith of Neptune Environmental Solutions), Spotlight: Scotland (Introduced by Scott Donaldson of Creative Scotland; Chaired by Ben Twist, Director of Creative Carbon Scotland; and with panelists: Mairi Claire Bowser, Set

Decorator and Environmental Strategist; Simon Cook, Director of Re-Set Scenery; Linda Fraser, Co-Manager of BECTU Vision; Sonja Henrici, Producer, Sonja Henrici Creates Ltd; and Steven Moore (Line Producer on Outlander), and discussions on the digital transition (moderated by Alison Powell, LSE and JUST-AI Network for AI ethics), multinational policy strategies, and upcoming GGMN projects (including a discussion of Amphibious Screens with Joanne Garde-Hansen and Jessica Savage, University of Warwick).

The London meeting was very much a reconnaissance mission, getting diverse perspectives from scholars, media professionals, and advocacy experts in Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands and the UK, with outcomes including network building, research and policy sharing, compiling, and synthesis.
